Why are you seeking elective office?
The Executive Council used to be a civilized, bipartisan body who would work with the Governor to ensure our state government was running efficiently, appointments to high profile positions were timely, and our judicial branch had qualified nominations. Upon the Democrats taking control, this changed drastically. We’ve seen gridlock and DC-style politics these past two years. I’m running to bring back commonsense, decency, respect, and conservative values to our Council chambers and I believe I am the most qualified candidate running for the post. I have the experience needed - private, nonprofit, and government - to do the job and best represent District 3.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
When Governor Sununu wins reelection he will need allies on the Executive Council. He has many State Agency Commissioners whose terms will be ending and we have a vacancy on our Supreme Court. We need a Republican majority to ensure we appoint agency leaders and judges who are qualified and who share our conservative values. Democrats will continue to block these nominations if we do not regain control of the Council.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
The Democrats running for this seat are no allies to Governor Sununu. They have voted for programs to institute an income tax and one was even Bernie Sanders’ campaign co-chair this past Presidential primary.
I’m the only conservative candidate in this race who has almost three decades of experience working with nonprofits, is pro life, pro 2nd amendment, pro school choice, supports the President, stands with law enforcement and veterans, is appointed by Governor Sununu to serve New Hampshire, and who has been endorsed by former District 3 Executive Councilors - the Honorable Ruth Griffin and the Honorable Bill Cahill.
I'm the only candidate who has exemplified action during the pandemic. I've already been working for the constituents in District 3- I diligently advocated to ensure insurance companies properly cover tele-health services during the state of emergency, I advocated for small businesses who were struggling to get Main Street emergency loans, I went to bat for minority owned businesses who couldn't apply for these very same funds due to language barriers, I worked with Rep. Melvin in Newton to get answers from Department of Transportation regarding a dangerous intersection, and I was a strong voice for many small businesses who needed advice and guidance on how to approach the Governor's Reopening task force.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform
I’m a fiscal hawk and right now we are staring down a state revenue deficit that could exceed $500 million. We need Executive Councilors who understand their role as government watchdogs and who will fight for a contract procurement process that is transparent, competitive, and efficient. I will advocate for more competition in the bidding process, put an end to sole source contracts, and I will read the fine print of these contracts to ensure taxpayers aren’t being treated like an ATM by Concord bureaucrats. I'll say "no" to toll or fee increases.
Once again, I will support nominees whose view of government is similar to mine - pro school choice, pro 2nd amendment, pro life, pro-law enforcement and pro-business.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
