Jungle Talk: the Amazon Basin with Ken Thomas on January 21st at 7 PM.

Come discover the Amazon, the world’s largest tropical rainforest. Speaker, Ken Thomas, is a professor of biology at Northern Essex Community College. Professor Thomas regularly conducts research in the Amazon basin.

The Amazon is roughtly the size of the 48 contiguous US states and includes parts of eight South American countries. Its ecosystem contains 40,000 plant species, 1,300 bird species, 3,000 types of fish, 430 mammals and a whopping 2.5 million different insects.
