Kuster Delivers Holiday Cards to Local Veterans

Event was part of her annual "Holiday Cards for Heroes" drive.

This week, U.S. Rep. Ann McLane Kuster, D-NH, delivered holiday cards to patients of the Manchester V.A. Medical Center and to residents of the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton. The cards were made by local students as part of the Congresswoman’s third annual “Holiday Cards for Heroes” drive.

“We should take every possible opportunity to honor the heroic sacrifices of our veterans, especially during the holiday season,” said Kuster. “This year, I was delighted to visit with students in Hopkinton to discuss the service of our courageous New Hampshire veterans, and I was touched by the heartfelt wishes and sincere appreciation displayed by these students and others around the state. I was proud to deliver these heartwarming cards to our brave veterans, and to hear directly from residents about how I can continue serving them in Washington. As the daughter of a World War II veteran and a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I remain deeply committed to ensuring our veterans have access to the services and care they deserve.”

Every holiday season, Kuster holds a “Holiday Cards for Heroes” drive to honor the efforts of local veterans, according to a press release. Through the drive, local students are given the opportunity to meet with the Congresswoman and craft hand-made cards thanking New Hampshire veterans for their service. This year, Kuster visited students at the Harold Martin School in Hopkinton and collected additional cards from elementary school students in Hopkinton, Bow, Hudson, and Milford.

The daughter of a WWII veteran, Kuster has long advocated for the needs of New Hampshire veterans, and she frequently holds veteran roundtables, forums, and job fairs for Granite State veterans across the district.
