A liberty minded state representative from Litchfield has decided not to run for the Republican nomination for governor of New Hampshire.
George Lambert wrote on his Facebook site on Dec. 13, that he was “sorry to say” he would not be running next year.
Lambert, who was active in the recent fight to keep Concord from obtaining a Bearcat police armored vehicle, wrote that a recent heart attack had a lot to with the decision and he would have to wait to heal before running for a future election. However, he added, “I will be actively engaged in making New Hampshire the ‘Yankee Hong Kong’ it can become.”

Lambert thanked his family and friends for their support and encouragement. He also wrote that on this Sunday’s “CloseUP” on WMUR-TV, he made it official that he was out.
A number of well-wishers including Jennifer Horn, the chairwoman of the state committee, Carla Gericke, the president of the Free State Project, state Rep. Jeanine Notter, R-Merrimack, and others, left notes of praise and best wishes for better health.

“But do not lose hope,” Lambert wrote. “I am working to recruit another candidate. It is true, I have met with two other acceptable candidates this week.”
The two other candidates Lambert mentioned, according to James Pindell at WMUR-TV, were activist Andrew Hemingway, and former House Speaker William O’Brien, R-Mont Vernon. Both also left notes on Facebook wishing Lambert well.
“Thank you for your leadership!,” Hemingway stated while O’Brien wrote, “There will be another day and another campaign.”
