​Last Chance To Change Political Party Before September 2024 Primary

SALEM, NH — The Supervisors of the Checklist of Salem will be in session on Tuesday evening June 4, 2024, from 7 to 7:30 p.m. on the lower level of the Municipal Office Building.

This is a required session preceding the filing period for all offices for the State Primary scheduled for Sept. 10, 2024. Residents of Salem may register to vote, make changes or corrections to their existing data, or switch their party affiliation at this session. However, this will be the last opportunity for a voter to change their party before the September State Primary.

Perspective new voters must be at least 18 years of age, show a picture ID, and proof of domicile is required. (A driver’s license is acceptable.) Naturalized citizens must show a passport or documented citizenship papers.

Residents who wish to change their party may also do so during regular office hours at the Town Clerk's Office up until 5 p.m. on June 4, 2024. Those voters who are registered in a party must take the ballot of the party they are registered in at any primary. Undeclared voters have the option of choosing their ballot.

For those who wish to confirm their voter status, there are updated copies of the voter checklist available to view at the Kelley Library Reference Area and at the Town Clerk’s Office.
