Last Minute for Easter Dinner? Here Are Some Possibilities.

Here is a short list of places serving dinner on Easter Sunday. Let us know about your favorites.

CRANSTON, RI — There's still time to make a reservation for Easter dinner. But a lot of places are solidly booked. Others are filling up fast. The good news is some of the best ones still have seatings, if you're flexible about the time.

1. Lobster Pot, 119 Hope St., Bristol 02809

The Lobster Pot, which remains one of the best restaurants in the state, offers food that's fresh, locally produced and unpretentious. It's open Sunday from noon. For Easter, they're serving dinner, and there are seatings at noon, 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and after 6. There will be a couple of specials, such as lamb.

If you enjoyed church Sunday morning, you can stay in the mood here. The restaurant is inside an historic church and boasts some spectacular views of Providence. On Easter, they're open for dinner from 5 p.m. and offer the regular dinner menu. All the earlier seatings are booked. Also, the number of people in the party will determine if and when a seating is available. If you get in, some choices are Beef Tenderloin Bordelaise for $39.99 with house smashed potatoes and Italian green beans; Filet Mignon with crab cake benedict for $32.99 with poached egg, tomato-chive hollandaise and sauteed spinach; lamb and veal chops; salmon with an olive tapenade, artichoke hearts, baby spinach for $28.99; and lobster for the market price.

Red Stripe is serving dinner, starting at 3 p.m. It's too late to make brunch reservations. Here are some of the choices,

Red Stripe Chicken Saltimbocca

Short Rib Bourguignon

  • $20 sauteed green beans, mashed potatoes & burgundy demi-glace

Beer Brined Roasted Half Chicken

The Venus de Milo has a buffet for Easter. Prices are $36.95 for adults and $14.95 for children 10 and under. Seatings are at noon, 12:30, 3 and 3:30 p.m. The buffet includes a carving station and dishes such as Seafood Newburg, Baked Scrod, Chicken Tenders with Fries, and Chicken Marsala.
