Man Assaulted After Hook-Up Goes Bad at Red Roof Inn
Salem Police arrest Massachusetts man, NH women for robbery, assault, and criminal restraint.

A couple is facing multiple charges after allegedly robbing and beating a man at the Red Roof Inn in Salem after he responded to a Backpage.com ad last month.
Vincent Evelyn, 32, of Dorchester, MA, was arrested on Oct. 5, and charged with first-degree assault, robbery with a deadly weapon, criminal restraint, being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon, and destroying/hiding evidence. Also arrested was Ryanne McCann, 27, of Rollingsford, NH, who was charged with robbery, criminal restraint, and simple assault.
According to police, at around 2:20 a.m., Salem Police were called to the Red Roof Inn for a report of a fight. When they arrived, they found a naked man bleeding from the head while two suspects attempted to flee the scene.

“Witnesses observed a naked male subject being chased by a male and a pitbull,” according to the report. “The naked male was tackled and then beaten with brass knuckles in the parking lot in front of the main office.”
Police later found out that the victim was at the motel responding to a Backpage.com ad and when he entered the room for the hook-up, was confronted by the couple. The man was allegedly stripped and held by the pair. Evelyn allegedly then went to the man’s car looking to find more money. The victim then fought with McCann who allegedly blocked the door but later escaped into the parking lot. The man was then allegedly run down and beaten with brass knuckles by Evelyn. Police later arrested the pair.

The man received numerous stitches for a head wound; the pitbull was taken to a kennel.
Evelyn was held on $20,000 cash bail; McCann was held on $15,000 cash bail.
According to online reports, Evelyn was arrested in March 2010 after allegedly robbing a bank in Milton, MA.
In January 2013, McCann was arrested for prostitution in Kittery, Maine, according to online reports. In May 2013, she was arrested in Concord on an operating after a suspension, subsequent offense, charge, according to a post on Patch.
