Detectives ran checks on the occupants of the room and learned that one had a bench warrant, according to Dolan.

“Detectives were able to make contact with the male and advised him of the warrant,” Dolan alleged. “As they were placing him into custody, the male retrieved a syringe from his pocket and held it in his hand. Detectives ordered the male to drop the syringe at which time the male squirted the liquid from the syringe onto the floor of the room. The male dropped the syringe and was quickly taken into custody.”

Several baggies of suspected heroin-fentanyl were allegedly located on the man as well as a shoelace and glass pipe, according to a report.

“Due to their observations in the room, detectives were able to gain consent to look through the room,” Dolan stated. “Upon doing so, detectives discovered a .40 caliber handgun which had the serial numbers scratched off. The handgun was loaded and numerous rounds of .40 caliber ammunition were also discovered in the room.”

Miller was transported to police headquarters where his identity – and past status as a convicted felon – was confirmed and he was charged. He was held on $20,000 cash bail and was scheduled to be arraigned today.
