Salem Police arrest Nicholas Marcoux on numerous charges.

A local resident called police early Sunday morning after allegedly catching a man trying to break into her home, according to a Salem Police report.
Nicholas Marcoux, 33, of Methuen, MA, was arrested around 5 a.m. on March 15, 2015, and charged with loitering, prowling, criminal trespass, false reports to law enforcement, possession of a controlled drug (heroin), and falsifying physical evidence.
At around 4:40 a.m., a local resident woke up after hearing a knock at the front door of her home, according to Lt. Joel P. Dolan of the Salem Police Department.

The woman didn’t recognize the man knocking on the door and refused to let him in. She reportedly requested him to leave the property and then, walked to her kitchen at the rear of the home. She then heard “a thumping on her back door and observed the same male attempting to gain entry into her residence,” according to the report. Startled, the woman yelled at the man and called 911.
“Responding officers located a male matching the description given by the caller walking nearby,” according to Dolan. “Officers were able to interview the male and determine he was the same male that had just left the caller’s residence. The male could give no legitimate reason for being on the caller’s property and as a result of the investigation was taken into custody.”
