Mass. Woman Charged with DUI-Drugs After Crash
Kristin Thunstrom of Methuen allegedly drove across a lawn, a driveway, and then struck a pole on Old Gage Road in Pelham this morning.
PELHAM, NH — A Bay State woman was arrested this morning on a DUI charge after a crash on Old Gage Road in Pelham, according to police. Kristin Thunstrom, 36, of Methuen, MA, was arrested on May 9, 2017, on a single count of driving under the influence of drugs. Police and fire and rescue teams, according to Lt. Anne Perriello of the Pelham Police Department, were sent to the single-vehicle crash at just after 6:30 a.m. this morning.

When they arrived, they found a single vehicle that struck a telephone pole. Witnesses alleged that the driver – Thunstrom – was traveling west when she allegedly drove off the road, through a resident’s front lawn, across a driveway, and then hit the pole, Perriello noted. She was given a field sobriety test and then, was arrested.

“There was no one injured as a result of the crash,” Perriello stated. “Old Gage Hill Road is highly traveled during the commuter hours. As officers were responding to the crash, they saw students on other roads waiting for their bus to arrive. Thankfully, this location was not a bus stop.”
Thunstrom is due in 10th Circuit District Court on May 26.
