Microsoft Makes $1M Tech Donation to Celebrate New Store
Salem Boys & Girls Club and Girls, Inc. to benefit from donation.

By Junior Achievement of Northern New England
In celebration of the grand opening of Microsoft at the Mall at Rockingham Park, Microsoft presented a donation of $1 million worth of software and 10 Windows PCs to financial literacy education organization Junior Achievement of Northern New England at the store’s ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 29.
The generous donation will be used to support Junior Achievement’s mission to educate K-12 students about financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship through experiential, hands-on programs. The organization, who served 36,000 students in Northern New England during the 2011-2012 school year, was also able to select two community partners as part of the donation – and Girls, Inc. – who will each receive $250,000 worth of Microsoft software and 10 Windows PCs.

“As a member of the Junior Achievement of Northern New England Board of Directors and a member of the New Hampshire business community, I know the impact that JA has on local students,” said Mark Reilly, Vice President of Government Relations and Communications for Comcast. “This donation will only help to further enhance the important lessons Junior Achievement teaches students.”
