Motorcyclist Dies After Crash On Island Pond Road, Derry Police Say

The crash that killed Christopher Chick, 61, occured around 5:30 p.m. on June 21. Derry police said the investigation is ongoing.

DERRY, NH — A 61-year-old motorcyclist died after a crash Sunday evening on Island Pond Road in Derry, according to police.

The department said officers responded on June 21, 2026, at around 5:30 p.m. to the area of Island Pond Road and Lawrence Road in response to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision. When emergency personnel arrived, they found the motorcycle involved in the crash and began life-saving measures on the driver, according to the department.

The driver was taken to the hospital by members of the Derry fire and rescue teams. Police said Christopher Chick, 61, of Derry, died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at Parkland Medical Center.

Because of the severity of the crash, the Derry Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team responded and is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, according to the department. Police said Island Pond Road was closed for several hours while investigators processed the scene.
