Nashua Man Arrested After Gun Threat Incident

A man that allegedly threatened a Liberty Utilities employee with a gun after an electrical worker attempted to shut off power to a Salem business has been formally charged, according to police.

Raymond Shawdee, 31, of Nashua, was arrested on Aug. 18, 2015, and charged with criminal threatening and felony reckless conduct. He’s being held on $5,000 cash bail.

According to police, officers were called to a business on North Broadway in Salem to assist an electrical employee that was allegedly being threatened with a gun by Shawdee.

Police arrived at the scene around 10:45 a.m. and set up a perimeter around the business. Not long after, Shawdee was reportedly seen leaving the building and walking away from officers. After he allegedly refused to stop, an officer shot at him. Shawdee was not hit by the bullet and was taken into custody.

The incident is an ongoing investigation and more information is expected to be released by police about the incident.
