New Charter School Chooses Location

New Salem charter school Birches Academy announced Friday afternoon they will be located on the second floor of 419 South Broadway, pending Planning Board approval and the finalization of a lease.

Founding parent and Board of Directors member Paula Patten said the location was chosen because of its "bright spaces, open play area, convenient location and future expansion possibilities."

Birches Academy "was founded by a group of 10 parents who are passionate about education and believe in offering alternatives and choices to families in the Southern N.H. community," the school said when

"We are fortunate to have found a landlord that understands and supports our mission and we are looking forward to creating wonderful relationships with our neighbors to enhance our curriculum," Patten said in a statement Friday. "We also look forward to a long term relationship that will allow stability for our families for years to come."
