New England Investment and Retirement Group Holds Golf Tournament to Benefit CASA of NH

MIDDLETON, Mass. – More than 85 golfers from New Hampshire and Massachusetts kicked off the first day of fall with a golf tournament benefit at Ferncroft Country Club in Middleton, Mass.

Presented by New England Investment and Retirement Group, Inc., of North Andover, Mass., golfers and guests raised nearly $6,000 on site, with additional pledges to follow, for Court Appointed Special Advocates of New Hampshire, the charity partner chosen for this year’s event by New England Investment’s President Nick Giacoumakis.

In its second year, the first benefitting CASA, the golf tournament served not only as a fundraiser but also as a client appreciation day for the premier wealth management and retirement planning firm. In addition to 18 holes of golf at the sprawling course just minutes outside of Boston, golfers and their guests were treated to a post-game cocktail hour and dinner complete with awards from the tournament, a silent auction and raffle.

All proceeds from the day were donated by Giacoumakis and his team to support the child advocacy work performed by CASA of New Hampshire’s more than 450 dedicated volunteers. A member of the National CASA Association, CASA of New Hampshire strives to protect the rights of the Granite State’s most vulnerable children to live, learn and grow in the embrace of a loving family.

CASA’s volunteers are trained to advocate in court on behalf of the best interests of abused and neglected children who’ve come to the attention of the courts through no fault of their own. In the last year, CASA volunteers advocated for more than 1,100 children and has seen an increase of about 30 percent to its caseload, due in part to the widespread heroin epidemic. CASA of New Hampshire has a 27-year history of providing qualified, caring and compassionate advocates to serve as the eyes and ears for a judge who is making critically-important decisions about a child’s future.

“We are always looking to work with charitable organizations that provide very important and very valuable services to our communities,” said Giacoumakis, a resident of Windham, N.H. “The care and protection of children who are abused, vulnerable and at a disadvantage is such a critical priority, which is why I chose the organization this year. When we’re looking for important causes to support, children’s well-being and overall health is at the top of the list.”

CASA of New Hampshire CEO and President Marty Sink expressed her appreciation for the generosity of team at New England Investment and Giacoumakis through this event.
