NH Senate President Morse Receives Mel Thomson Award
Salem's state Senate received the "Principle Above Politics" award at the NH GOP's annual meeting on Saturday.
CONCORD, NH — State Senate President Chuck Morse, R-Salem, was presented with the Mel Thomson Award at the New Hampshire Republican Party Annual Meeting Saturday, according to a press statement. The award, "Principle Above Politics,” recipient is chosen from several names by the Thomson family. The award is given to the individual who embodies the phrase Gov. Thomson coined, “Low taxes are the result of low spending.” Morse said it was "a distinct honor" to receive the award.
“Gov. Mel Thomson worked tirelessly to uphold the principles he believed in for the State of New Hampshire and embodied what it means to serve our state," Morse said. “The two things I firmly believe in are honor and respect. I truly believe our citizens and our communities deserve the very best and I strive to uphold those principles every day while serving the state of New Hampshire as Senate President.”
