NHSP: Another Mass. Man Caught Trying to Get NH License

Jairo Nunez, allegedly pretending to be from town, arrested at the Salem DMV; he's the eight license arrest in the last month.

The New Hampshire State Police department has arrested another out-of-state resident allegedly attempting to obtain a Granite State license by way of using false information, according to a report.

Jairo Nunez, 29, of Lawrence, MA, was arrested on April 20, 2015, and charged with unsworn falsification and tampering with public records.

According to a notice from the state police, troopers were called to the NH Division of Motor Vehicles location in Salem for a report that a man from Salem might be using false information to obtain a license.

The man, reportedly identified, at first, as “Javier Guzman Olivo,” was applying for a license and allegedly using false information during the application process. State Police called Salem Police who then made contact with the individual and identified him as Nunez, according to the report.

Nunez was arrested and held on $15,000 cash bail. He’ll be arraigned tomorrow in Salem District Court.

“This was the third person arrested in the last week, and the eighth person arrested since March 9, 2015, by the New Hampshire State Police – Troop G at the Division of Motor Vehicles,” according to Sgt. Andrew Player. “In each of those cases, staff at the Division of Motor Vehicles has alerted the New Hampshire State Police – Troop G that suspects were attempting to obtain identification by using fraudulent documents.”
