NHSP: C.A.R.E Life Saver Weekend a Success

Last weekend, there were no fatal accidents on New Hampshire highways.

State Police Director Colonel Robert Quinn announces the enforcement efforts of State Troopers during the recent C.A.R.E Life Saver Weekend. The State Police are pleased to announce that there were no fatal motor vehicle crashes and want to thank all those who traveled safely and courteously.

Beginning Friday Dec. 12, through Sunday Dec. 14, State Troopers maintained a highly visible presence throughout the State to assure safe holiday season travel making a total of 1,912 vehicle stops, which included 324 citations for speeding and 1,139 warnings. There were also 20 citations issued for hazardous violations and 16 for Driving after Suspension. Additionally, 52 other criminal arrests were made during this time period.

Highly trained State Troopers were also assigned throughout the state to detect and apprehend impaired drivers. As a result of their enforcement efforts there were a total of 20 DWI arrests made.

Several erratic and impaired operators were identified and apprehended as a result of phone calls by responsible citizens reporting unsafe and erratic operation. The men and women of the State Police appreciate the public’s assistance in removing impaired drivers from our roadways.

The New Hampshire State Police are committed to ensuring safe travel throughout the state and will continue our efforts to reduce traffic collisions throughout the holiday season.
