Night Work Coming to I-93 South

Roadway milling operations in preparation for final wearing course will begin on June 30.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announced last week that night work associated with the construction of the new I-93 Exit 2 Interchange in Salem.

Weather permitting; milling operations on I-93 southbound will take place on the nights of Tuesday, June 30, and Wednesday, July 1, 2015. This work is in preparation for the paving of the final wearing course on southbound in the Exit 2 area.

Construction operations will require traffic on I-93 southbound to be reduced to one lane utilizing a lane closure. This work will take place during non-commuter hours, from approximately 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorist should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.

This work is part of the $41 million I-93 widening and reconstruction project in the vicinity of Exit 2. The general contractor is George R. Cairns & Sons, Inc. from Windham, NH.
