MANCHESTER, NH — A New Jersey man was arrested by New Hampshire State Police after allegedly driving recklessly from the southern part of the state to the Queen City, according to a press statement. Edward Alexander, 52, of Newark, NJ, was arrested on March 28, 2018, and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, felony reckless conduct, and two counts of disobeying a police officer. “(The driver) traveled at speeds varying between 50 and 90 mph in an erratic and aggressive manner, as he traveled northbound on I-93, I-293 and eventual back onto I-93 southbound,” Trask alleged. “As the vehicle attempted to merge back on to I-293 northbound from I-93 southbound, the vehicle ran out of gas.”
Troopers and Salem Police were able to contain the vehicle and its operator, he noted. After a short stand-off, Alexander was taken into custody. He was processed, held, and arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North earlier today.
