Delandy and Alan Frias, 20, of Salem have been arrested in the case. Police said arrest warrants on three other individuals alleged to be involved are active.

Police said detectives are working to bring the following into custody: Mike Fantasia, 21, of Salem, for burglary and attempt to commit second degree assault; Rui Conde, 26, of Salem, for burglary and attempt to commit second degree assault; and Tiana Delandy, 24, of Salem, for criminal mischief and conspiracy to commit burglary.

Police identified Conde as the suspect who was stabbed during the home invasion.

EARLIER STORY: One person has been charged and several others are expected to be charged in connection with a home invasion that resulted in a stabbing on Independence Drive late Tuesday night.

Salem Police said they responded Tuesday at approximately 11:46 p.m. to an Independence Drive residence for a report of several people smashing the front doors and windows of the home.

A male subject was standing in the front yard holding a knife when officers arrived, police said, and he threw the knife down as officers approached.

Police determined a car holding seven people showed up at the residence to fight a male who lives there. Police said two men from the car went to the door with baseball bats and began smashing the doors and windows and were able to force their way into the home.

The male resident retreated into the home and grabbed a large knife in the kitchen, and police said a "violent physical confrontation" ensued. Police said one of the males who entered the home was stabbed several times.

The fight continued outside until the carful of people fled the area. Police contacted area hospitals and learned a male subject was at Lawrence General Hospital with multiple stab wounds to his neck, back and stomach.

Detectives are presently investigating the case. Police believe it may have been drug related and the suspects and victim knew each other.

Police had charged one person as of Wednesday morning. Alan Frias, 20, of Salem, was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit second degree assault. He is being held until arraignment in the 10th Circuit Court of Salem.

According to police, charges are expected for at least four more suspects in this case.

Police said they will be releasing more information on this case when it becomes available.
