Pair Arrested for Selling Heroin in Salem

Police: A 2-month investigation on Joseph Road led to charges against Christopher Reinhold, Jazmin Herrera; cops seize 9 grams of the drug.

SALEM, NH — Police in Salem arrested two people yesterday after investigating complaints about alleged narcotics use on Joseph Road, according to police. Arrested on Sept. 14, 2016, were Christopher Reinhold, 44, of Joseph Road in Salem for three counts of sale of a controlled drug, and Jazmin Herrera, 27, of Lowell, MA, who was charged with sale of a controlled drug and transportation of drugs in a motor vehicle.

According to Capt. Joel Dolan of the Salem Police Department, a two-month investigation into alleged drug dealing at the address began after police received “numerous complaints” of alleged narcotics use at the home.

“Numerous reports were received that vehicle traffic at the house would increase during the day with the people only staying for a short while,” he noted.

Detectives began a surveillance operation of the home and while doing so, “observed a female pull into the driveway (and) they then observed a hand to hand drug transaction take place.” Dolan noted that detectives were able to stop the female and male and both were taken into custody.

Reinhold was held on $10,000 cash bail and will be arraigned later today; Herrera was released on $1,000 cash bail and is scheduled to be in Salem District Court on Oct. 24.

Dolan stated that detectives allegedly seized 9 grams of heroin valued at $450 as a result of the bust.
