Park Shuts Down Equinox Ride

Canobie Lake Park in Salem has shut down its Equinox Ride, according to a report in the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune.

A spokesman and other employees for the park told the Massachusetts daily that one of the park’s more popular attractions had been erratic and there were numerous problems. The park’s ride has been removed from its website and signs at the park state that the ride was closed.

Chris Nicoli, a spokesperson for Canobie Lake Park, issued the following statement to Patch at around 12:30 p.m.:

Although we had high expectations for our attraction “Equinox”, we too are disappointed in its limited availability to our Guests over the past two seasons. While there has not been a safety issue or any one specific cause for the lack of its regular operation, this inconsistency falls below the Park’s high standards of family entertainment. As a result and for the foreseeable future, we have made the determination to better utilize our resources in other areas.

Although no definitive decisions have been made regarding the future status of Equinox, we have removed the attraction from our website to better communicate this to our guests when planning their visit with us.
