Patrick to Campaign for Obama in Salem

Massachusetts governor will appear at Salem OFA office tonight.

Democratic Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick will appear at the Salem Obama For America office tonight on the eve of the general election.

Patrick, who was elected governor of the Bay State in 2006 succeeding former Gov. Mitt Romney, is scheduled to be at the office at 202 Main St., Unit G at 7:30 p.m.

According to the Obama campaign, Patrick is appearing as part of a series of "kick-off grassroots get-out-the-vote" events that includes two other events tonight in Manchester and Nashua.

The purpose of Patrick's visits are to "energize volunteers as they prepare for the final push to get out the vote and deliver the Granite State for President Obama," according to the campaign.
