Pedestrian Carrying Beer Hit by Car
Police say the man, who may have been drunk, suffered severe head injuries.

A pedestrian carrying a case of beer was struck by a car on Cluff Crossing Road on Saturday night.
According to Salem Police, the pedestrian was walking across Cluff Crossing Road around 9:09 p.m. Saturday carrying a case of beer when he was hit by a car.
The pedestrian, Joseph Noviello, 28, no address given, sustained severe head injuries and was transported to Lawrence (MA) General Hospital by the Salem Fire Department.
The Salem Police accident reconstruction team responded and is investigating.
The driver of the vehicle, Debra Ciulla of Methuen, MA cooperated with the investigation and is not facing charges. Police said Noviello was wearing all dark clothing, walked into traffic, and may have been intoxicated.
