Police Arrest 14 Over Holidays

Salem Police arrested 14 people, responded to two overdoses, and handled several accidents and domestic disputes during New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, they said in a press release Thursday.

Police said charges are pending against Dennis O’Connor Jr., 20, of Manchester, who allegedly hit two parked cars in the mall parking lot on New Year’s Eve. Police said they found O’Connor “unconscious with (a) syringe still in his hand.” The crash was reported at 5:02 a.m. Salem firefighters took O’Connor to the hospital.

  • Shawn Cochrane, 44, of Manchester, charged with receiving stolen property (felony) and theft by asportation (felony). The arrest happened at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday. Bail was set at $25,000 cash.
  • Ronald Chamberlain, 41, of Salem, charged with speeding 26+ over, reckless conduct (felony), disobeying a police officer, and habitual offender (felony).   • Roberto Rivera, 21, of Salem, arrested on an electronic bench warrant. The arrest happened at 8:49 a.m. Wednesday. Bail was set at $500 cash.
  • Frankie Carabello, 43, of Lawrence, Mass., charged with shoplifting. The arrest happened at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday. Bail was set at $500 cash.
  • Jason Gudis, 20, of Peabody, Mass., charged with transporting alcohol (minor), possession of a controlled drug (marijuana), and transporting drugs in a motor vehicle. The arrest happened at 7:12 p.m. Wednesday.
  • Candice Allain, 38, of Laconia, charged with possession of a controlled drug (heroin/crack), and falsifying physical evidence. The arrest happened at 10:26 p.m. Bail was set at $2,500 personal recognizance.
  • Jennifer Downs, 25, of Laconia, charged with possession of a controlled drug (heroin/crack), transporting drugs in a motor vehicle, and driving after suspension. The arrest happened at 10:26 p.m.
  • Kyle Rush, 19, of Wakefield, Mass., charged with unlawful possession of alcohol. The arrest happened at 3:17 a.m. Thursday.
  • Daniel Phillips, 23, of Chelmsford, Mass., charged with transporting drugs in a motor vehicle. The arrest happened at 3:17 a.m. Thursday.
  • Two women, ages 29 and 21, both from Wakefield, Mass., were placed in protective custody at 3:17 a.m. Thursday.
  • Amanda Gaudreau, 26, of Haverhill, Mass., charged with driving while intoxicated. The arrest happened at 3:35 a.m. Thursday.
  • Michelle Hauser, 39, of Salem, charged with possession of a controlled drug (marijuana). The arrest happened at 4:41 a.m. Thursday.
