CAUGHT: Alleged NH, MA Bank Robber Arrested in Lawrence

UPDATE: Chaka Meredith, who has allegedly robbed numerous banks in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, is behind bars.

UPDATE, Feb. 2, 2017: The Plaistow Police Department reported last night that Chaka Meredith was arrested in Lawrence, MA, last night.

UPDATE, Feb. 1, 2017: The Federal Bureau of Investigation has announced a reward for information locating Chaka Meredith, who is alleged to have robbed at least six banks in New Hampshire and Massachusetts recently. The reward was announced by the FBI on Twitter this morning.

PLAISTOW, NH — Police in Plaistow are asking for the public’s help finding Chaka Meredith, 41, with a last known address of Laconia, after an alleged bank robbery today. Police in that community were called to the Santander Bank in the Pentucket Plaza on Route 125 at around 12:15 p.m. on Jan. 30, 2017.

“The lone suspect handed the teller a note but it was reported that no weapon was shown during the robbery,” according to a post on Facebook.

During the course of the investigation, police in Lawrence, MA, and the FBI, alleged that the picture was of Meredith, according to the post.

The investigation of the Plaistow robbery is ongoing, according to police. If anyone was in the Pentucket Plaza or the vicinity of the bank at the time of the robbery and feels they may have witnessed something involving this crime, contact the Plaistow Police Detective Unit directly at 603-382-1200.
