Reardon: Bettencourt is an Impressive Community Leader

I have lived in Salem all of my life and am a proud member of its senior community. I am retired and on a fixed income. On March 8, Salem residents like me will face an important choice with regard to our budgets and quality of life in Salem.

It is for the financial safety and security of my golden years and my ability to continue living in Salem that I am strongly supporting D.J. Bettencourt for Budget Committee. D.J. over many years of service to Salem has established himself as an impressive leader who will craft budgets that will not stretch Salem’s seniors beyond their means.

In watching D.J.’s performance in the Budget Committee debate last week and his candidate interviews, there is no doubt that he is the best leader and that he will keep our tax rate affordable while also making sure that Salem has a strong education system, passable roads and a safety net for seniors and needy residents. He is a fiscal conservative with intelligence.

It is with confidence and enthusiasm that I am supporting D.J. Bettencourt for Budget Committee. He has shown a dedication and passion to addressing the issues facing seniors, who are frequently forgotten when it comes to spending and taxes.
