Recite the Pledge of Allegiance, Get Free Ice Cream
Moo's Place in Salem and Derry will be giving away a kiddie cone to children who participate in the "I Pledge Project."

SALEM, NH – July is National Ice Cream Month and to celebrate, Moo’s Place on Ermer Road in Salem and Crystal Avenue in Derry is participating in the I Pledge Project.
“As a way to say, ‘Thanks for Your Patriotism,’ all day on July 4th, Moo's Place Homemade Ice cream will give any child (age 12 and under, accompanied by an adult) who can recite the Pledge of Allegiance, from memory, a free kiddie cone of their choice in a cup, cake or sugar cone,” according to Christy LaRocca, the owners of the shops.
The I Pledge for Ice Cream effort was first launched at Leopold’s Ice Cream in Savannah, GA, in 2010, as a way both creating a national ice cream event that would also emphasize the Pledge with schoolchildren.

According to project’s website, other New Hampshire locations participating in the event include Bobby-Sue’s Homemade Ice Cream in Freedom and Udderly Delicious Ice Cream Shoppe in Lincoln.
