Jill Duranko, of Salem, has been placed on the Gettysburg College Dean's Honor list for outstanding academic achievement in Spring 2012.
Students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester's work are placed on the College's Dean's Honor List.
QUINNIPIAC UNIVERSITY
The following area residents were named to the dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester at Quinnipiac University:
Margaret Fitzgerald of Salem, NH
Justin Kurek of Salem, NH
To qualify for the dean's list, a student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits, including 12 that have been graded A through C in a semester. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester to be eligible.
SAINT ANSELM COLLEGE
Hannah E. Greenlaw of Salem, NH graduated with a degree in Nursing at the 119th Commencement Exercises at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. on Saturday, May 19, 2012.
SAINT MICHAEL'S COLLEGE
Alaina Wermers, daughter of Darlene and Eric Wermers of Salem was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Saint Michael's College. Wermers is a May Graduate French major at the liberal arts, residential Catholic college located in Burlington, Vermont, one of America's top 10 college towns. Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the Dean's List.
UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND
The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that 4,042 undergraduates have qualified for the Spring 2012 Dean's List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, and many other states and nations.
To be included on the Dean's List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.

UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT
The following area students have been named to the dean's list for the spring 2012 semester at the University of Vermont:
Kevin P. Baudin of Salem, NH, a first-year student majoring in Civil Engineering in the College of Engineering & Mathematical Sciences.
Brett S. Berthel of Salem, NH, a first-year student majoring in Japanese in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Susan E. Leggett of Salem, NH, a senior majoring in Biochemistry in the College of Arts & Sciences.
To be named to the dean's lists, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
WORCESTER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE
The following local residents graduated May 12 from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).
Alex Pittera of Salem, N.H., was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
Daniel Savastano II of Salem, N.H., was awarded a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
Di Yang of Salem, N.H., was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in computer science.
Hajar Jaffferji of Salem, N.H., was awarded a Master of Science degree in civil engineering.
Joshua Bernier of Salem, N.H., was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
