The Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore formally located on
Union Street in Lawrence, has moved to 647 Andover St. Lawrence. Come celebrate a bigger, better ReStore at
the Grand ReOpening on Saturday Nov 16 from 10:00am – 4:00pm. “Board” cutting by local dignitaries
scheduled for 10:30am. Refreshments, tours, kid activities, reuse/repurpose
workshops, giveaways and fantastic bargains all day long. Be one of the first
500 through the door for a special gift.
The ReStore is a home improvement and home accessories retail outlet
open to the public. It accepts and sells new and gently used building
materials, furniture, working appliances less than 7 years old, home
improvement and decorative items. Whether it’s windows or wine glasses, doors
or decorations, a kitchen or a couch, the ReStore has something for everyone at
bargain prices. All items are marked at
least 50% below retail prices.
In addition to shoppers, the ReStore depends on donors. Donating to the
ReStore benefits the community in so many ways. It’s environmentally
friendly—keeping unwanted yet usable items out of landfills. Bring in that
faucet that never got installed, or the extra forks sitting in a box. Every
donation is a tax deduction. Donor can even schedule pick-ups of larger
donations with the ReStore staff. And pick-ups are free! So, not only do donors
get tax breaks, they save on disposal fees too.

All profits from the ReStore are used to help fund local home building
projects. More specifically, the Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity builds
simple, affordable, homes in partnership with people who need them. Since its
founding in 1985, it has built or rehabbed more than 80 homes in Lawrence and
surrounding communities. These homes are sold at cost and with no-interest
mortgages to low-income families who spend hundreds of hours helping to build
their own or another Habitat home.
The Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity serves the following 22

Groveland, Haverhill, Lawrence, Merrimac, Methuen, Middleton, Newbury,
Newburyport, North Andover, North Reading, Salisbury, West Boxford, West
