Rockingham Honda, Toyota Set to Move

Approval for the plan was granted in April.

Rockingham Honda and Toyota recently released an official announcement about their pending move to a new combined location on South Broadway in Salem.

, which combines the two lots that previously housed Rockingham Woodcraft and Ultimate Electrionics/Circuit City from 402 to 412 South Broadway.

Rockingham Toyota, which is presently located at 354 Main St., will move to its new dealership at 408 South Broadway before the end of the year. Rockingham Honda is slated to move either this year or next year from its current locale at 360 North Broadway. No official opening date has been set.

"Rockingham Toyota plans to renovate (the Ultimate Electronics building), making room for close to 300 new and used cars," the dealership announced. "The designated area for each of the two dealerships is currently set at 23,800 square feet for Rockingham Honda and 35,400 square feet for Rockingham Toyota Scion."

According to the release, the dealership "promises that the major construction project associated with the move will not interfere with daily traffic in the surrounding area."

According to Vision Apprasial's database of Salem properties, dealership owner Emmett Horgan purchased the two properties for a total of $8.05 million last September.
