Route 28 Sections To Be Paved Next Week
Paving will begin next Tuesday night on the effected sections.

That grooved pavement along Route 28 you've been driving over for the last week won't be paved over until next week.
At Monday night's Board of Selectmen meeting, Town Manager Keith Hickey gave the board an update on the milling and overlay project on two sections of Route 28: from Veterans Memorial Parkway to just past Cluff Crossing Road and from Pattee Road to Hillcrest Road.
"We've had a minor change in the schedule to accomodate a business that has to do some utility work in the roadway," Hickey told the board.

The milling of Route 28 has already occurred, with the top 1.5 inches of pavement ground away. What's left is to overlay 1.5 inches of new pavement along each stretch.
Originally, those sections were to start paving this Sunday evening, June 24. Instead, Butler Street will be paved June 25, with the Route 28 work to begin the next evening.

"That paving will take a few evenings but we expect that work to be finished before July 1 weather-permitting," Hickey said.
