Salem Family Joins Teamsters Local 25 at Autism Speaks Walk
Fundraiser supports Autism education and research.
(Boston, Mass.) October 17, 2018 - Hundreds of members of Teamsters Local 25 and their family members participated in the 2018 Autism Speaks Greater Boston Walk. Teamsters Local 25, a top supporter for Autism Speaks in the U.S., presented a check worth $75,000 to Autism Speaks leaders at the walk, money raised at the annual Teamsters Local 25 Gala for Autism, held each year in Boston. In addition to hundreds of volunteer walkers, Teamsters Local 25 also provided a trademark 18-wheel truck full of donated water provided by Stop & Shop Distribution. Teamsters Local 25 President Sean M. O’Brien helped kick-off the walk and pledged to continue working to raise awareness, support research and medical discovery, and improved services to enhance the quality of life for children and adults living with autism. “Individuals and families living with autism deserve our support and a fair chance to live the best life possible,” said O’Brien. “I am incredibly proud of our Teamsters Local 25 members and their families who not only participate in this walk, but also work all year to raise awareness and money for research, education and medical advances to help people living with autism reach their potential and enjoy a high quality of life, both at home and in the workplace.”
