Salem Grandfather Scammed Out of $1,400
Salem Police also arrested a Massachusetts woman for attempted robbery.

Wednesday, Nov. 13
- 10:46 a.m.: A caller on Summer Street reported that an ex-girlfriend just entered his house and stole his medication.
- 11:30 a.m.: Milagros Quiles, 37, of 82 Knox St., Apt. #1, Lawrence, MA was arrested on a warrant and charged with attempted robbery. She was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail.
- 2:07 p.m.: A caller on Ticklefancy Lane reported that a phone was stolen from his mailbox.
- 2:33 p.m.: A caller on Cluff Road reported that his father just fell victim to a phone scame about his grandson being in trouble and needing money. The victim reportedly sent $1,400 dollars to the subjects.
- 3:24 p.m.: A possible shoplifter was reported at Home Depot on South Broadway.
- 4:30 p.m.: Carolina Ventura, 25, of 245 River St., Apt. #5, Haverhill, MA was charged with willful concealment; theft after an alleged shoplifting incident at Sears on Rockingham Park Boulevard.
- 5:26 p.m.: Police received a report of a hit-and-run accident on Pelham Road.
- 8:18 p.m.: Police received a report of a hit-and-run accident on South Broadway.
