Salem High School Band Members Take Ice Bucket Challenge
More than $420 was raised for the ALS Foundation.

First, it was Salem Blue Devils Winter Percussion Ensemble being challenged by Spirit of America Winter Percussion Ensemble on Cape Cod to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Then, it was the Salem High School Blue Devils Marching Band and Color Guard being challenged by Marshwood High School Marching Band (directed by Salem alumni David Graichen).
So it just made sense to have all of them do it together and maybe, the parents music club could help out, too, right?
That’s exactly what happened last night at 8 p.m. when about 80 of the 115 members of the bands participated in the challenge, dunked themselves, and raised more than $220. Another $200 was kicked in by the Salem High School Parents Music Club, which brought the total to more than $420 to ALS Foundation.
