Salem High School Students Help the Hungry
The Plants and Animals Class donated items to the New Hampshire Food Bank Production Garden.
The New Hampshire Food Bank Production Garden has received assistance from students at Salem High School, according to Jeffrey Dennis, the dean of students at the school.
Andrew Salkovitz, Rebecka Caplis, Jessica Tate, Kyle Morton and Sarah Parsons all donated items to the food bank recently. Here are pictures of the students with their plants. Andrew and Rebecka are seen here loading up the truck for delivery.
According to the food bank, the garden was started in 2008 with the goal of producing fresh vegetables for the Recipe for Success Culinary Job Training program, the Cooking Matters program, and for distribution to its agencies. The garden is also an educational tool for the larger community, community groups, and corporate volunteers. It is located on an acre of land in North Manchester.
