Salem Man Arrested on Theft Charges in Merrimack
William Burns allegedly stole items from a home in October, pawned them, and was arrested.

A man is due in court next month on two theft charges after an investigation by the Merrimack Police.
William Burns, 27, of Granite Avenue in Salem, was arrested around 9:20 a.m. on Nov. 4, on a warrant for two counts of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.
According to police, on Oct. 6, officers began looking into the case of a theft incident at a home involving a watch. The investigation revealed that Burns had allegedly sold the watch to a local pawn shop. Police later learned that he allegedly also stole a television and pawned it at the same shop.

The warrant was issued and Burns turned himself into police earlier this week.
Burns was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and is due in Merrimack District Court on Dec. 2.
