Salem Man Injured In Dixville Snowmobile Crash: Fish & Game
A snowmobiler failed to adjust to a change in trail conditions Saturday, struck a bump, and was thrown – but was wearing a helmet.

SALEM, NH — A snowmobile crash Saturday in Dixville sent one man to the hospital with injuries, according to the New Hampshire Fish & Game Department. Around 10 a.m., officials received a report about a crash on the Corridor 18 snowmobile trail. Conservation officers, New Hampshire State Police, the 45th Parallel Ambulance, DHART, and Colebrook Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the scene to assist the patient, a 53-year-old man from Salem, according to Conservation Office Levi Frye.
"Upon investigation, officers found that when coming around a corner, (the rider) failed to adjust to the changing trail conditions, hit a bump, and was thrown from his snowmobile," Frye said. "(He) was wearing a helmet and alcohol was not a contributing factor in the crash."
The patient was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
