Salem Obama Office Opening Sunday

Newton Mayor Setti Warren to speak at the event at the Main Street office.

By Organizing for America - New Hampshire

On Sunday, July 15, Organizing for America - New Hampshire will officially open the campaign's Salem office. Along with Organizing for America volunteers and supporters, Newton Mayor Setti Warren of Massachusetts will discuss President Obama’s plan to extend the middle class tax cuts for Granite State families.

On Monday, the President called on Congress to extend the middle class tax cuts for the 98 percent of Americans making less than $250,000 for another year. If Congress fails to act, a typical middle-class family of four will see its taxes go up by $2,200 on January 1. This would not only be a big blow to working families, it would be a drag on our entire economy.

Our prosperity has always come from an economy built on a strong and growing middle class, where hard work pays and responsibility is rewarded. That’s why President Obama has cut middle-class taxes every year – by $3,600 for the typical middle class family.

Mayor Warren will also discuss Romney's failed record in Massachusetts. Unlike the governors who preceded and followed him, Romney didn't govern during a recession, yet had the worst job record of all three. Massachusetts plunged to 47th of 50 in the nation in job creation and 44th in economic growth.

Romney left his successor with a billion dollar deficit, and in 2002, Mitt Romney promised Massachusetts that his experience as a corporate buyout specialist would help lead an economic turnaround. It didn't work then, and it won't work now. Members of the media wishing to cover this event are asked to RSVP to press@ofanh.com.
