There will be public access at the temporary facility for people wishing to file a report, request records, or for any other reason individuals visit the police department. This movement of operations to the temporary facility may cause a slight delay in the processing of records requests, however, all records requests will be answered. The Salem Police Department would encourage residents seeking to make a records request to use our online Records Request available on our department webpage, or through the following link.

Also on our webpage, or by using the same link above, you can file an online report. This is for incidents that are not an emergency or “in progress.” By utilizing the online report, a citizen can file the details of the incident, along with other information that will be required for a report and will later be contacted by a police officer if further information is required. Salem merchants are strongly encouraged to utilize the online report system to report past shoplifting incidents.
