Salem Resident Care Assistant Indicted On Drug Charges

NH AG: Stephanie McMahon allegedly removed fentanyl patches from a storage box while working at an elderly long-term care facility.

SALEM, NH — A local woman has been indicted on felony drug counts after allegedly mishandling fentanyl at an elderly long-term care facility in Salem, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office. Stephanie McMahon, 39, of Salem, was indicted on two felony counts of acts prohibited-fentanyl. She faces up to 14 years in prison and/or a $25,000 fine.

According to Bryan Townsend II, an assistant attorney general for the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, on two occasions while working at the facility, McMahon allegedly removed three fentanyl patches prescribed to a resident from that resident’s medication storage box. “McMahon was not authorized to administer or otherwise handle resident medication,” he alleged.
