Salem School District Candidate, Petition Deadlines Approach
Plus, upcoming budget hearings. Here's what you need about upcoming dates.

The following information was submitted to Patch by the Salem School District:
Two school board seats
Superintendent of Schools, Michael W. Delahanty, has announced the dates for filing for the election of school officials for the Salem School District.

Candidates for the position of school board member may file from Jan. 21, through Jan. 30.
A candidate must be a registered voter in Salem and may obtain sign up papers at the Superintendent of Schools Office, 38 Geremonty Drive, any workday, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or from Kelly

There are two (2) three-year school board positions to be filled at the town election of Tuesday, March 10. The incumbent school board members whose terms expire are
Pamela R. Berry, and Michael J. Carney, Jr.
The election of the school board members is by a non-partisan ballot at the same voting time and places as town elections.
Applications for an absentee ballot may be obtained from the Town Clerk’s office at the Town Office, 33 Geremonty Drive.
Citizen petitions
The deliberative session of the Annual School District meeting is set for Thursday, Feb. 5, beginning at 7 p.m. at Salem High School.
Any citizen wishing to submit a warrant article for consideration at the Annual Deliberative Session of the School District must have the petition submitted before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13. A citizen petition must be signed by 25 registered voters of the town of Salem. They may be
submitted to the office of the Superintendent of Schools, 38 Geremonty Drive, any workday, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Hearings
The Salem, NH Municipal Budget Committee will conduct public meetings on Wednesday, Jan. 14, and Thursday, Jan. 15, in the Knightly Meeting Room, Municipal Office Building, 33 Geremonty Drive, Salem, to discuss and vote on the warrant articles of the Salem School District.
The schedule will be as follows:
- Wednesday, Jan. 14, 7 p.m. Presentation, Discussion, and Preliminary Votes on Warrant Articles.
- Thursday, Jan. 15, 7 p.m. Public Hearing followed by Final Vote on Warrant Articles.
