Salem Students Will Work with an Astronomer for a Year
Olivia Bollhorst and Samantha Crepeau will participate in the NASA/Infrared Teacher Archive Research Program.

SALEM, NH — Olivia Bollhorst and Samantha Crepeau have been selected to participate in the 2017 NASA/Infrared Teacher Archive Research Program (NITARP), according to Salem High School. The NITARP selects a handful of teachers and students each year from all around the country to participate in this program and provides them the opportunity to work alongside an astronomer for an entire year.
The decision was based on career interests, academic records, and other personal qualities. Both participants will be flown out to CalTech/PTL in July for 5 days to meet with team members. They will continue to work throughout the fall of 2017 and present their work at the American Astronomical Society Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland in January 2018.
