School Board Accepts Resignation of Fisk Principal

Susan "Micki" Rhodes praised for her service to Salem.

On Tuesday night the Salem School Board accepted the resignation for Principal Susan "Micki" Rhodes after 33 years of service to the district.

SAU 57 Superintendent Michael Delahanty said Rhodes previously served as principal at , a Grade 5 teacher and an educational assistant in Salem.

"Her service is in many ways unequaled," Delahanty said.

He credited Rhodes with making Haigh "one of the finest elementary schools in the community."

Similarly, Delahanty said Rhodes took Fisk from School in Need of Improvement (SINI) status and "has created some improvement in that building."

Board member Pat Corbett said she had a child go through Fisk and felt Rhodes was terrific with both parents and children in her role.

"I think she also cares about this community as a whole, which I saw a lot as well," Corbett said.
