Seven Area Soccer Girls to travel to England in April
local soccer athletes travelling to England in April
This coming April, a group of seven talented local athletes have been invited to train and play competitive soccer on international soil. All teammates of the 2003/U14 Seacoast United Storm Girls Premier Team based out of Kingston/Hampstead, NH - Kate Burns, Monica Bajgrowicz, Rachel Carr, Annie Edwards, Cassidy O’Conner, Meg Shaffer, and Annabel Veale - are preparing for the trip and the opportunity of a lifetime.
Travelling with Nike Soccer Tours, the girls will arrive in London on April 19 at which time they will take a coach to Manchester via Warwick Castle. During their 9 day/8 night stay in Manchester, the girls will be staying at the Hotel Football (owned by former Manchester United Football club players) and receive top notch training and master sessions, compete in 3 competitive games, go on an excursion and receive tickets to see and cheer at two professional English Premier League soccer matches. This inaugural trip has been centered and purely built around the relationship between Seacoast United and the Class of ’92 and in particular Gary Neville (Man United and England).
Raising funds for the trip, the girls are each selling raffle tickets as part of the Seacoast United Fundraising Raffle: Youth Teams USA to Europe 2017 campaign. Ticket prices are $5.00 each or a book of 5 for $20.00. Other team fundraising drives have included participating in Pampered Chef, FlipSave, and Launch Trampoline Park efforts, a clothing drive, 50/50 raffle, craft sales as well as bake/snack sales and holiday photos and selfies with “Seacoast Santa”.
