Sierra Club Praises Annie Kuster
Nation's Largest Grassroots Conservation Organization Praises Kuster for Record of Protecting the Environment and Local Farms

The New Hampshire Chapter of the Sierra Club and the National Sierra Club praise Congresswoman Annie Kuster from New Hampshire’s 2ND Congressional District on her pro-environmental record.
“Sierra Club endorses Annie Kuster because she is an environmental champion,” said Jim Allendinger, New Hampshire Chapter Political Committee Co-Chair. “She has supported our outdoor recreation economy, passenger rail, and investments in renewable energy and weatherization that would create local jobs while addressing climate disruption. We are proud to endorse her in her bid for re-election.”
As a member of the House Small Business Committee and the House Committee on Agriculture, Representative Kuster has supported New Hampshire’s family farms and local businesses throughout the state. She has also hosted events to discuss efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change, so we can protect our state’s vital tourism industry and support economic growth.

“This election is about contrasts,” said Allmendinger. “Granite Staters have the opportunity to re-elect an environmental champion in Rep. Kuster or a climate denier. Her opponent is effectively taking the lead from Big Oil lobbyists. Rather than looking for solutions by leading discussions with local businesses like Rep. Kuster has done, her opponent dismisses extreme weather events that have costs our communities millions in road repair as seasonal. ”
Congresswoman Kuster was proud to receive the endorsement, saying:

“As a life-long Granite Stater and an avid outdoorswoman, I recognize that our natural resources are among New Hampshire’s most valuable assets,” Kuster said. “I’m honored to have the support of the Sierra Club and their many members here in the Granite State. In Congress, I have fought to protect our natural resources here in New Hampshire and across the country, and understand the need to address the effects of climate change in order to protect our state’s crucial tourism jobs.
Meanwhile, my opponent is funded by billionaire oil magnates, and she continues to deny humanity’s role in global climate change. I look forward to continuing to work with the Sierra Club to protect the environment and conserve our natural resources in New Hampshire and all across the country.”
Nationwide Sierra Club represents 2.4 million of our families, friends, neighbors and community leaders who care about the environment and care about finding solutions to climate disruption. The original endorsement was announced nationally on March 21, 2014. In New Hampshire, our Members and Supporters are committed to re-electing Annie Kuster to Congress.
