Snow, Freezing Rain Could Be Heading to NH

Plus, will there be snow during New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation primary on Tuesday? Possibly, according to forecasters.

After some lovely Spring weather in the Granite State, it is about to quickly change again.

First, the National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook early Thursday morning warning Northern New England to prepare for some messy weather in the days ahead.

A low-pressure system is developing off Nantucket and will head into the area bringing light snowfall to central and southeastern New Hampshire. While there won’t be a ton of “plowable snowfall,” it could get very difficult for drivers, especially during Friday’s commute, due to the higher temperatures that will create a treacherous mix on the roads.

AccuWeather.com suggests that if the storm strengthens quickly and heads north, it could be more of a factor.

As much as two inches could fall in the southern part of New Hampshire as well as the Seacoast.

Next week, more snow is expected, according to AccuWeather.com, in the early part of the week.

The forecast

Tonight: Clouds with lows in the high 20s. Depending on the trajectory of the coastal storm, light snow could be possible in the late evening or during the early morning hours.

Friday: Cloudy in the morning and then clearing with highs in the mid-30s.

Saturday: Partly cloudy with highs in the low 40s dropping down to the high 20s during the evening.

Sunday: Sunny with highs in the upper 30s and lows in the teens during the evening.

Monday: Sunny skies and highs in the upper 20s. Snow is possible in the evening with lows in the 20s.

Primary Day: Possible snow during the day and evening with temps in the upper 20s or lower 30s.
