State Sen. Morse Elected Senate President

Names leadership team for 2015-16 legislative Session.

The New Hampshire Senate today elected state Sen. Chuck Morse, R-Salem, to serve as President of the Senate.

Morse was first elected Senate President in 2013.

“I am honored and humbled at the responsibility entrusted to me by my fellow Senators. I will work to uphold the traditions of the New Hampshire Senate, and ensure that all Senators have a chance to make their voices heard.”

Morse today named the Leadership Team for the 2015-16 Legislative Session:

Majority Leader - Sen. Jeb Bradley, R-Wolfeboro: Bradley is entering his fourth term serving District 3. He has also served as a Congressman from New Hampshire’s First District for two terms, and for five terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives.

Minority Leader - Sen. Jeff Woodburn, D-Dalton: Woodburn is beginning his second term representing District 1. He has also served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, and as Chairman of the New Hampshire Democratic Party.

President Pro Tem - Sen. Sharon Carson, R-Londonderry: Carson is entering her fourth term representing District 14. She has previously served four terms in the New Hampshire House. Carson is a Sergeant First Class (Retired) in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Deputy President Pro Tem - Sen. Russell Prescott, R-Kingston: Prescott is beginning his fifth term overall, and third consecutive term representing District 23. Prescott is a practicing professional engineer and co-owner and vice-president of R.E. Prescott Co.

Finance Committee Chairwoman - Sen. Jeanie Forrester, R-Meredith: Forrester is starting her third term representing District 2. She has served as Chair of the Finance Committee since 2013. She and her husband Keith co-own an environmental technology company.
