Organizers of the meeting hope to address addiction and substance abuse issues, especially regarding heroin and other opiate based drug usage.

“The amount of overdose calls that our First Responders are called to have almost doubled than those in recent years,” according to a post on the Salem NH Alerts and Information Facebook site. “We know there are many mixed feelings on this topic. We all know someone who suffers from addiction, we may just not know it or recognize the signs. Approximately 1 in 10 Americans over the age of 12 suffers from some form of addiction.”
Members of the community are invited to gather and listen to local and state organizations, as well as participate in a question and answer session.
